July 5th - 11th

Wednesday, July 6th
Chalked Up
at Way Out Club - $5
Each and every month, the Weirdo series keeps growing and growing. This month features Deacon Bill, thrash punks from Brooklyn join a lineup of some of my favorite experimental acts in St. Louis. If I don't see your face at this show, I will forever judge you.

Mangina
at Lemp - $5
I can't tell you a whole lot about this show because of the sheer absurdity of it all. What I can tell you, there will be puppets, there will be feline impersonators and it will be very out of the ordinary. Have fun and good luck.

Friday, July 8th
Cohete
Lars
at Bolozone
Get your weekend started with heavy slammage. A couple young Chicago punks rolling through a place near you. They've got jams so hard, you are going to bleed from your belly button.

at Kismet - $5
I have quite the soft spot for black metal. When it's good, I'm all in. And boy, is Ethicist really good. Crusty, lo-fi American black metal from Cincinnati, Ohio. Ethicist adds elements of shoegaze and post-metal to their blackened stylings. Joining them is Kentucky's Cryptic Hymn, a blackened death metal outfit that you shouldn't sleep on. Also Stagorn vs. Laika, battle sets. Good luck, Jack.

Saturday, July 9th
The Christmas Bride
at Foam - $5
Three bands full of real rockers from all over who will come to Foam to show off their real rockin' tunes. Brother Gruesome is a grunge band from OKC that has some slick stoner riffs. Pudge is a rad punk band from New Orleans. Christmas Bride is a lame pop band from Chicago that uses homophobic slurs in their songs. Show up to the gig and tell them they fucking suck.

at The Heavy Anchor - $7
Four of the best experimental acts in St. Louis come together at The Heavy Anchor for a real good time. All of these groups are phenomenal, but I highly recommend Key Grip for anyone unfamiliar.
