April 12th - 18th

Tuesday, April 12th
Biggie Stardust
at Foam - $5
The Chicago-based synth pop group Wingtips is a band I have been very high on since seeing them last Summer at Melt. They have some infectious new wave dance tunes that will get your feet moving. If you have an illness, I think their music will Cure it.

Thursday, April 14th
at San Loo - $7
Veteran punk rock outfit Clorox Girls is coming to St. Louis, which is cool because I didn't think they were a thing anymore. Maybe i'm just an idiot. Either way, Clorox Girls is a true throwback to the good ole fun punk rock we love so much.

DJs ~*DERAM CONTROL*~
at Foam
Electro-goth house duo Body of Light comes from Tempe, Arizona. Despite coming from the bright, hot deserts of Arizona, Body of Light has cold, dark tone in their uptempo electronic music. They are joined by High-Functioning Flesh, an electro-punk duo from Los Angeles. DANCE IN THE DARK!

Friday, April 15th
Invitation
Presented by Marble//Wall Duo
at Kranzberg Arts Center - $10
Local improv duo made up percussionist Louis Wall and pianist/composer Nika Marble present a five act performance inspired by the novel Invitation to a Beheading by Vladimir Nabokov. The five performances will explore the themes of entrapment, positionality, perseverance, death, and transcendence.

Saturday, April 16th
at KDHX $10-$20
Tyshawn Sorey is a percussionist and composer from Newark, New Jersey. At 35 years old, he is widely considered one of the most influential figures in experimental jazz of this generation. His newest group, Alloy Trio features himself on percussion, Corey Smythe on piano and Christopher Tordini on upright bass playing pieces composed by Sorey himself.

Sunday, April 17th
Freak Out
at The Firebird - $7-$10
Local DIY booking company Constant Cocoon Booking celebrates their first birthday with a night of music and art. On top of the stellar local bill, there will also be local artists, zines and record labels selling goods. There is also a raffle with super tasty prizes. Nothing beats a raffle, am I right?
