We Have Fun Here - August 18th - August 24th

Tuesday, August 18th
Trancers (Detroit)
 Berdella
at Foam
Trancers (not to be confused with the experimental electronic duo from St. Louis of the same name) is an experimental post-punk band out of Detroit, Michigan bringing weirdo psychedelic and lo-fi sounds with a heavier punk sound. Joining them is Little Big Bangs and Berdella, which features members of Willis.
Wednesday, August 19th
at CBGB - $7
The Nervous Ticks are a noisy, lo-fi punk 'n roll band out of Richmond, Virginia. Very bass heavy, very chaotic. They will be joined by St. Louis favorite Demonlover, old-school punk band Maximum Effort, ultra heavy Human Bodies and new super-group Bort, featuring members of Shitstorm, Dad Jr., Posture and The Brainstems. Those are four of my favorite STL bands so I am exciting to see what Bort is.
Thursday, August 20th
at Foam - $5
Sloths is a metal band out of Portland, Oregon with a diverse sound.  Combining all the major sub-genres in metal, it is hard to put Sloth in a box of a "black metal band" or "doom metal band" or what have you. Joining them is heavy-hitters Anodes, doom-experts Path of Might and blues rockers The Maness Brothers.

at Melt - $5-$7-$10
Hosted by Maven Lee, Soul Underground is a full night of art, featuring singers, poets, emcees, musicians, hip-hop artists and visual artists.

North American Punk. Canada, USA and Mexico all represented
Tunic
Cadenaxo
Skin Tags
Ish
at Foam - $5
North America is the great continent on Earth.  This show features acts from Canada, the United States and Mexico. Tunic is a noisy punk band from Winnepeg. What really stands out about Tunic is their vocalists aggressive and intimidating screams over the dark and fast guitar tones. Cadenaxo is hardcore punk band from Mexico City. Their music is the antithesis of in-your-face. Fast, heavy and to the point. They will be joined by St. Louis' Skin Tags and Ish.

Monday, August 24th
Punk, punk and punk
Dana
Ultraviolents
Dinofight!
at Foam - $5
Dana is punk band from Columbus, Ohio. They mix punk, classic rock and garage rock seamlessly for an enjoyable listen. Also their vocalist is incredibly talented and has the perfect sound to match the music. Joining Dana is noisy, experimental punks Ultraviolents and good time punk 'n rollers Dinofight!
