New St. Louis Releases: June 2017

MOM - Demo
Well look what we got here, a bunch of perverts! This new four piece punk outfit is for the raunchy at heart. This 7 song demo from MOM is one of the catchiest punk releases to come out of St. Louis in some while. I've listed to this countless times since it was released. I already want more.
Favorite track: Hardass Lardass

Griffin Trapp - EP 2
I genuinely believe that Griffin is a genius. I am constantly blown away by them and what they create. Griffin's second EP in two months entitled 'EP 2' is a lot spacier, less straight forward and more open than the EP before it. It's very much it's own entity, rather than a follow up to the previous release. EP 2 shows the range Trapp has with his songwriting. Fuck I'm gonna miss this guy.
Favorite track: Some Things Go Without Saying

Mike Herr - Continual Debrief
One of my favorite things about watching Mike Herr play drums is how he isn't very flashy behind the kit. Herr just holds it down and takes you for a ride. Watching and listening to Herr play drums is almost hypnotizing. I could watch Herr play the same thing for hours in absolute awe. Herr's drumming is blue collar as fuck. No pomp and circumstance, no flash, just a man who is very familiar with his tools, going to work.

Brainpal - Demo
This is a very solid 4 song release from folk rockers Brainpal. These songs are clean, uplifting and powerful. There is no wasted spaces and each song is engaging, to where you are following each ebb and flow like a good movie.
