Mathy funk-punx Anybody But The Cops return to St. Louis for another go-around. Slamming together influences of jazz, no wave and even post-hardcore, this Kalamazoo trio offers up something for at least one part of your brain to pick up on.
So Calvin Johnson, you know, from K Records, yeah that Calvin Johnson is going to be at Bolozone. Let that sink in for a second. It's pretty insane to me. Anyways, he will be playing as Selector Dub Narcotic, his funk and dance style outlet since 1995. This is really cool. Please be cool. Stay out of the alleyway and it will be a really cool night.
Classical musicians playing a heavier brand of classical music. Heavy metal influenced classical music with hints of folk, punk and arena rock. Pretty wild stuff if I do say so myself. If you're into heavy crescendos or just saying the word crescendo, I would highly recommend.

Eccentric death rockers, No Thanks returns to St. Louis. From Omaha, these flamboyant post-punks played Tü Fest last year and brought the house down. Nuclear Moms is hardcore noise punk trio from Columbus, Ohio that is pure drum and bass drama.
Witewash is an Austin-based hardcore punk band with a deathwish. Haram is an Arabic hardcore band from New York. Also from New York is the jangly meat punks Wad. Can you dig it?
Local percussionist Drew Gowran is releasing his first solo percussion tape. Gowran is most known for his time in punk rock band Little Big Bangs. However, his solo pursuit is less conventional from his work in bands. Gowran's sound resembles traditional drum line blended with African jazz.
I don't know about you, but the day after this show, I go back to school. And I can't think of a better way to cap-off a summer than with a BBQ/rock and roll show at a very nice house venue. The nicest house venue in St. Louis, I might add. Meat Wave and lifestyles are stellar rockers from Chicago that know how to move and groove.
Nashville garage rockers Modern Convenience are back in the Lou with some of the nastiest riffs in the business. If you missed them the first time, shame on you. If you miss them this time around, you're a real dipshit.

Oh one those classic "stacked bills" that is becoming more and more common in St. Louis. It's nice to see a 5 band bill where all 5 bands are worth checking out. Royal Brat is a gang of queer punks from MPLS that like to bounce around and bring the ruckus. Kitten Forever, also from MPLS, is a whiny and chaotic punk trio. Jefferson St. Parade Band from Bloomington is responsible for one of the silliest nights of my life when they played here a few months ago. It's a fucking marching band with West African influences.
Raunchy punks from Little Rock playing fast riffs, hitting hard and jamming to the fullest. Jangly riffs with a mean punch, reverbed-to-hell vocals that are disorienting. If these guys are your boyfriends, you should absolutely break up with for being too rock 'n' roll.

You know the drill by now. As always, I am stoked on the lineup put together for WOWW 11. I remember grabbing free Regicide Bureau CDs from APOP and thinking they were pretty rad. Never seen the infamous Thomas Sutter live, however. Should be a blast.
NYC's Spanish-speaking freak punks La Misma roll into town with more energy than one can fathom. Pryss is a newer punk band from the outskirts of life, Springfield, Illinois. Fast and feminist, both of these out-of-towners are on the hunt to crack some skulls.
