Night of Duos is a project that pits two experimental acts from St. Louis together for a one-time only improvised set. The duos are not allowed to practice or rehearse before playing, which makes more a completely honest interpretation of two sounds coming together for the first time. This edition features Sam Clapp of Strong Force, The Brainstems & Sun Bros. with Chad Hickman of Kingston Family Singers. Local activist and music documentarian Stephen Houldsworth and Sean Ballard of Hardbody, Fragile Farm & Double God. Also Ben S. of Beauty Pageant and Patrick Weston formerly of Ou Ou.

Formerly known as Caged Bird Songs, Euth has taken a new approach to their music.  The boys from Laramie, Wyoming have darkened their music and have made it a lot nosier to make an unique black hardcore sound.

One of the many projects of Bob Bucko, Veneral Crush is an improvised ambient drone group from Dubuque, Iowa. Bucko has played St. Louis many times and has yet to disappoint, making each return more and more exciting.

Loud, brash, egotistical are three words to describe PA punk band Burp! Joining them is Bloomington, Indiana's Laffing Gas, which sounds like the audial manifestation of playing in the mud and Indianapolis' hardcore punk group Fine Young Casuals that sounds like four dudes slamming around violently.

Single Player is the one-man lo-fi rock project of Sam Neumann. Hailing from Champaign, Illinois, Single Player just put out a split with Nectar on Rat King Records. If you like hip-swaying pop tunes, you're in for a treat.

Pierre is a three-piece emo group out of Minneapolis. These jams get you right in the feels while also getting you to bob your head. With an eclectic group of locals on this bill, you're guaranteed to find something you like.

Smear is hardcore punk band out of Texas. Their latest release entitled Smeared was one of my favorite things of 2015. Very short, fast and angry songs that make for good pit-bouncing tunes. Gush is a noise punk from Springfield, Illinois that is about to be your new favorite band.

Two of St. Louis' most exciting bands of the year, Hardbody and Skin Tags, have put out a lovely split 7" together and they are finally coming together to celebrate it's release. For those unfamiliar, Hardbody is a math rock trio that has a lot of flair, but is not lacking any substance. Skin Tags is a three-piece punk outfit that has had audiences eating out of the palm of their hands since their first show in January.  Joining the bill is noise rockers Tunic who hail from Winnipeg. It's only fitting that Trauma Harness is also playing this show considering their bassist, Andy Peterson, recorded and mixed the 7"

Biased STL is a blog that has existed for quite sometime now that conducts interviews, reviews and more content related to the music scene of St. Louis. They are now printing their own zine for you to enjoy.

Bedroom pop prince Richard Album brings a blend of early 90's pop music with mid-2000s indie rock lyrics. It's a perfect mix to dance your feelings away. Deadbeat is an experimental lo-fi folk-pop project also from Chicago that will likely become your new favorite thing.

Tory Z Starbuck has been playing music since 1980 and he is one of St. Louis' strangest entities. Most of the people who see him play now were not even born when he first started 35 years ago. Starbuck has been pushing the envelop for some time now and seeing him play is always memorable experience.

Ritalin O.D. is a DIY punk group from Chicago. With lo-fi recordings, short song lengths and unbridled energy, they are everything you expect from some young punks. Bleeding Gums features most of Ritalin O.D. This is the perfect show to bring the Christmas gifts you didn't like and smash them.

The CCB crew has shown to have a strong connection with the artists coming out of Denton, Texas and Riftworm may be the group out of there I am most excited about. Ambient post-rockers Riftworm have a mend of drone, shoegaze and doom. Crank that reverb! This show will be the last show for STL noise act BICYCLEtricycle so come squirm with them one last time. Also I hear there is a special mystery performance to start the show?

Non-stop trance inducing power is what you can expect from Minneapolis group Gnawed.  Frantic power electronic Velvet Curtain is the harsher of the two, but is not harsh for harsh's sake. There are no wasted motions. Minneapolis has one the strongest noise scenes in the country and these two acts are good examples of it.

Four very different folk acts are coming together on a Tuesday. Wandering Lake is the psych folk project of Brian Kupillas. Bringing more experimental influences into traditional acoustic folk music makes for something of note.  Wished Bone is lo-fi indie twee folk from Athens, Ohio. Heavy 60's country and folk can be heard from this project.

I'm telling you, Springfield, Missouri is a real weird, gross place. Take filthy punk rock band Gigantic for example. No stranger to the slop and the plop, riff-machines Gigantic are back with another Springfield band made up of gross human beings, Cum Bats.

In my opinion, Acid Kat and Freezerburn make the best zines in town. Whenever the two groups come together, you know it's going to be a blast. Cheap zines and a bevy of experimental artists from St. Louis just in time for the holidays.

Indiana-based experimental indie rockers Spandrels dabble in drone, post rock, shoegaze and have a flair for the melodramatic. In what sounds like the angsty, pissed off younger brother of Trauma Harness, Spandrels takes poignant twists and turns through their music at the drop of a hat.

The Inheritance are some cold wave goth freaks some a small town called Chicago. Minimalistic, chill and industrial are also words to describe this band. They are good. Turn off the lights in your room and listen to them on repeat until your inevitable death.

Beneath Oblivion is a doom/death metal band out of Cleveland. You can expect a lot of slow builds followed by chaotic vocals, punishing drums and distorted and dark guitar tones. The are joined by STL doom kings Fister, who has consistently been the most talked about and appreciate metal bands in town.

Thursday, December 10th

Golden Pelicans are an Orlando-based punk band. Veterans of the South East punk scene, they just put out a new release of Florida-based label Total Punk. Bib is a new hardcore/punk band out of Omaha that is one to really look out for. Wet Ones are infamous KCMO garage rock gunslingers. Like Golden Pelicans, STL's own Lumpy & Black Panties have releases on Total Punk as well.

Ultra-ambitious STL apocalyptic post-rockers Staghorn are releasing a graphic novel. You can be pick one up at this release show, featuring some heavy-hitters from St. Louis.

Three of your favorite St. Louis pop/electronic acts will be playing together at a splendid venue. If you're in the mood for dancing and being hypnotized by sweet, sweet melodies, I would check this show out.

The Cowboys are Bloomington-based pop-punk band that will having you twisting and turning in dance moves that you won't be able to explain to your friends later on. With Soda Boys and BBQ Boys playing as well, it looks like a punk rock picnic is going down at Livery.
